A Deep Retrofit Office

A  deep retrofit for a 12,000 sqft owner-occupied office in Lichfield. The building consists of a number of connected separate office buildings and workshops dating from the 1960’s through to the 1980’s. EHA were tasked with unifying the building for the new occupier, up-rating the entire building envelope and internal systems to bring building performance up to modern standards. Not only is the building going to provide a modern office environment within the centre of the city, but gets the most out of the building stock we already have through re-use. Internally, the fit-out is a direct response to post–pandemic working. The new space can not only support the occupier plus other potential tenants, but also allows for a modern co-working environment, providing diverse and adaptable workspaces, suiting the changing face of the workplace.
